Diane’s work does not present a “picture perfect” result. She works loosely, using brush strokes and layered paint techniques to tell her visual story and to achieve her end result. She has a distinctive personal style which sometimes does not appeal to the buyer who buy for decorative purposes.
“Life’s dictates have not allowed me a formal art education, or to practice art on a full-time basis until recent years, despite an incessant and never-ending desire and passion to continuously create.Charcoals and oils are my preferred mediums and my style has been classed as expressionistic.”
“My work has been greatly influenced by various aspects of my personal life and serves as a record of the past few years – a visual diary of my joys, sorrows, fears and aspirations. I feel blessed that I am able to transfer the joy I receive in creating a painting, to the visual pleasure the finished work may give to another person. I particularly enjoy painting the human form and rockscapes, exploring different paint techniques.”
