Intercare Medical and Dental Centre

Intercare offers a unique interface between the health care professionals and patients in a non-intimidating, spacious and comfortable environment. A variety of products and services are offered in a network of world-class health care facilities.

These days, people want convenience and added value for money. As most Intercare centres are conveniently located in or close to a shopping centre, it is sending the message that health care should be as easily accessible as the supermarket. Centres have longer opening hours and are open seven days a week. All the health care services are available under one roof, saving time and money. “It is not only about the professionalism of our services, but we want you to feel cared for and comfortable when you visit our centre,” says CEO, Dr Hendrik Hanekom. Each centre is equipped with a children’s corner and fresh coffee is available for all patients.

Medical services
The medical practitioners will offer routine and urgent care and with the fully equipped procedure rooms, are able to conduct minor surgical procedures. The centre also offers disease and risk management services including executive and insurance medicals. Travel health services will be available soon for all business travelers and jetsetters. Intercare has a mother and child clinic for amongst others, vaccinations and advice on child ailments.

Dental services
An exciting and innovative range of dental care services is available and includes dental reconstruction, removal of wisdom teeth, dental implants, dentures on implants and cosmetic dentistry, which includes teeth whitening. Oral hygienists are available to look after all your oral health needs.

Aesthetic services
Wellness includes feeling and looking good. Therefore, aesthetic services will also be offered at Intercare Walmer by I care for my body, a company who offers medical aesthetic and cosmetic treatments, in conjunction with beauticians, personal trainers, dieticians, GP’s, dermatologists and plastic surgeons. They offer the latest range on non-surgical treatments for cellulite, wrinkles, weight loss, and acne.

Associated health care services
At Intercare we take hands with associated health care professionals to expand on our range of services, with the emphasis on accessibility and health promotion. Therefore, at most centres you will find the following: a pharmacy, optometrists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dieticians, pathology services and an x-ray department.

Adding value to Intercare’s facilities is its affiliation with Syzygy Clinical Research Services, a research company that coordinates and manages clinical trials. Research areas include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, anti-infectives, respiratory infections, allergic rhinitis and vaccines.

Who is Intercare?
Intercare is a fast growing health care group in South Africa. Since the establishment of its first medical and dental centre in Lynnwood, Pretoria, the company grew to a total of seven medical and dental centres within five years. These centres are mainly located in the Western Cape (Tyger Valley and Parklands) and Gauteng (Glenfair, Irene and Silver Lakes in Pretoria and Fourways in Johannesburg). Intercare also opened a 60-bed Sub-Acute and Rehabilitation Hospital in Tyger Valley last year.
